At the end of Ephesians chapter 3 Paul gives a doxology to his people or a prayer of praise to God.
4:20-21 " Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is AT WORK within us, to him be the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen."
Also Jesus speaks to us in John 15:5 "I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing."
It says in my NIV study bible that many people try to be good, honest people who do what is right. But Jesus says that the only way to live a truly good life is to stay close to him, like a branch attached to a vine. Apart from Christ our efforts are unfruitful.
Are you receiving the nourishment and life offered by Christ, the vine. If not, are you missing a special gift he has for you!
As we pack up our few belongings and step out in faith we must trust and obey and stay attached to the vine. We would certainly shrivel up and die without being feed with his word. The gospel is our daily bread. We need not fear. We do not have to know the future to have faith in God; we have to have faith in God to be secure about the future.
So please be prayer warriors with and for us not worriers about the journey we are on. This journey began when God formed us in our mother's womb. It is with great joy that we are being sent out to plant many more seeds that will "bear much fruit."
