Trust and Obey

I wrote in my journal on March 8th, 2012 ... Chris and I dedicate the rest of our lives to serving the Lord. We have come to a crisis of belief and have no more doubts or excuses why we can't GO and serve full time. We have said "no" for the last time and with a trusting heart give our lives over to God - the one who created us. When we called Victory that same day to ask how to get started with our application, their answer was, "We have been waiting for you - we know your heart." It could have just as well been Jesus speaking to us. We have prayed for affirmation that we were following the path chosen for us by God. We have received it over and over in so many ways. This is not  a wild "adventure" for us but a wild ride for Jesus!

Please support Victory in helping us lead many to Christ. Alaska has the highest suicide rate along with alcoholism and child abuse. Many move to Alaska to escape something and the great outdoors, hunting, etc become their substitute god. They have abandoned Christ and are weighed down by many bad habits that blind their relationship with Him. You could help us help these lost people.

We have set a time frame of winter/early spring to be at Victory. As you know, we have to raise 100% of our support for Victory before we can go. Please consider prayerfully being a monthly supporter of Victory. As we said before, many hands make for a light load! You do not need to send any money now, just your support card with amount of monthly giving. God has asked us to step out boldly for Him. Please know we are his humble servants and asking for your support is not easy.

Blessings - Debbie

10,000 Reasons

This is the name of a song played by Matt Redman's band. Some know it by Bless the Lord. Sometimes music can give you a sense of where you are going, where you have been, who you are, or who you want to be. Please take a moment, listen and enjoy. God is really ever-present in our lives and sometimes it is through a song.

Frequently Asked Questions & Answers

Frequently Asked Questions & Answers

1. When are you leaving for Alaska?
No date can be set until we are 100% funded with our monthly support partners.

2. I don't want to pay monthly, can we/I just write one check?
Sure, just jot a note to Victory that you would rather donate once yearly rather than monthly.

3. I can't remember each month, will Victory send us/me a reminder?
Yes, each month Victory mails out a newsletter that shows your cumulative monthly giving amount. Also,
if needed, you are able to amend your support amount at that time.

4. Is there an electronic automatic option I can set up for support giving?
Yes, just let us or Victory know and we will get you the appropriate form. It is very easy to do. You will
still receive the monthly newsletter with you cumulative support amount.

5. I want to give monthly but can't give much.
You are exactly the support partner we have been praying for. Imagine if 100 people
gave $40/mo. or 200 people gave $20/mo. -  then we would be on our way. Praise God!

6. How long will you be gone?
As long as God needs us at Victory. His plan, His purpose!

Please call us with any other questions you have. We are humbled by your giving and prayer support! Amen.

Our Support Letter

Dear Family and Friends,

God is at work in us. In the New Testament, Jesus asks his disciples for complete and total devotion and dedication toward spreading the Good News.  2000 years later, in today's hectic, “American dream” chasing culture, many Christians find themselves diluting, forgetting, or ignoring this message.  Not too terribly long ago, God opened our eyes to the fact that we were living the “chaser” life - spending a lot of time and effort seeking earthly “stuff” that won't do us a bit of good where it matters, in the ever-after. He's turned us away from being pursuers of the almighty dollar toward being pursuers of the Almighty.  He has refocused us from being chasers to being seekers - seekers of the Way, and the Truth, and the Life.  Most importantly though, He has called us to help spread the gospel.

After much prayer and God's leading, we have accepted a non-paying position with Victory Ministries of Alaska. Victory Ministries “exists to connect people of all ages to God through the ministry of Christian camping and conference retreats”.  Located 95 miles northeast of Anchorage, Victory serves primarily the youth and adults of south central Alaska and exists to “Support the body of Christ in reaching the lost, building the faith of Christ's followers, and to equip those seeking to serve God”.  With your help, Debbie, Liam, and I will move to on-camp housing and begin our service.  I will help with grounds, trail, transportation, and building maintenance and Debbie will be involved in outreach and whatever else God directs.  Before we can begin, however, we are required to obtain prayer and financial support of $3,667 per month.  We're not just seeking “contributors” - people who are not truly involved with us - but are seeking stewards who understand what Biblical giving is. This is why we feel free to come to you, to encourage you to be a part of what God is doing in Alaska and beyond. Support us in fulfulling our “Great Commission” by partnering with us and Victory Ministries - Alaska.

If you would like more information please feel free to contact us. We would love to share how God is working in our hearts.

Sincerely in Christ,

Chris and Debbie Mock

Welcome

All I can say is, Wow, we never thought we would be moving to Alaska 2 years ago. But God knew and knows all beyond our understanding. "Be still and know that I am God". We are all created to give God His glory and share the Gospel. That is it! Our story will hopefully be a faith walk with God. We really don't know where God is leading us through our mission work with Victory, so it is like a leap of faith for us - even as we are jumping, we do so with the knowledge that even though we may not be able to "see" our Father's arms, He sees us, and that's all that really matters!

We pray that God will move and work in the hearts of all of you to help us get on our way to Victory! Even though we are anxious to be there, we also know it is ALL in His timing!
